QTL Analysis using Bayesian Interval Mapping

چکیده
R/qtlbim (www.qtlbim.org) provides a powerful suite of tools for model selection of the genetic architecture for traits influenced by multiple quantitative trait loci (QTL). The Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) sampling approach draws samples from the more probable genetic architectures. Subsequent visualization and summary provides posterior estimates of the number and location of QTL, their main and epistatic effects, and possibly interacting covariates, or GxE interactions. This document assumes some familiarity with QTL and with Bayesian methods. Good sources are Broman (2000), Yandell et al. (2007), and Yi et al. (2005). Additional information on advances in methods can be found in Yi et al. (2007a,b).

Comparison of two QTL mapping approaches based on Bayesian inference using high-dense SNPs markers
To compare different QTL mapping methods, a population with genotypic and phenotypic data was simulated. In Bayesian approach, all information of markers can be used along with combination of distributions of SNP markers. It is assumed that most of the markers (95%) have minor effects and a few numbers of markers (5%) exert major effects. The simulated population included a basic population of ...
متن کاملBayesian shrinkage analysis of quantitative trait Loci for dynamic traits.
Many quantitative traits are measured repeatedly during the life of an organism. Such traits are called dynamic traits. The pattern of the changes of a dynamic trait is called the growth trajectory. Studying the growth trajectory may enhance our understanding of the genetic architecture of the growth trajectory. Recently, we developed an interval-mapping procedure to map QTL for dynamic traits ...
متن کاملQuantifying evidence for candidate gene polymorphisms: Bayesian analysis combining sequence-specific and quantitative trait loci colocation information.
We calculate posterior probabilities for candidate genes as a function of genomic location. Posterior probabilities for quantitative trait loci (QTL) presence in a small interval are calculated using a Bayesian model-selection approach based on the Bayesian information criterion (BIC) and used to combine QTL colocation information with sequence-specific evidence, e.g., from differential express...
متن کاملBayesian multiple quantitative trait loci mapping for complex traits using markers of the entire genome.
A Bayesian methodology has been developed for multiple quantitative trait loci (QTL) mapping of complex binary traits that follow liability threshold models. Unlike most QTL mapping methods where only one or a few markers are used at a time, the proposed method utilizes all markers across the genome simultaneously. The outperformance of our Bayesian method over the traditional single-marker ana...
متن کاملQTL mapping of heading date and plant height in Barley cross “Azumamugi”דKanto Nakate Gold
To identify quantitative trait loci (QTLs) controlling heading date and plant height, ninety nine F13 recombinant inbred lines (RILs) derived from barley cultivars Azumamugi × Kanto Nakate Gold cross were evaluated. The field trails were conducted at randomized complete block design with two and three replications in 2004 and 2005, respectively. Significant differences and transgrassive segrega...
متن کاملStatistical Methods for Mapping Multiple QTL
Since Lander and Botstein proposed the interval mapping method for QTL mapping data analysis in 1989, tremendous progress has been made in the last many years to advance new and powerful statistical methods for QTL analysis. Recent research progress has been focused on statistical methods and issues for mapping multiple QTL together. In this article, we review this progress. We focus the discus...
